In order to facilitate a rigorous, objective and transparent selection process, Cornerstone assembled a Grants Committee comprising individuals from Cornerstone staff and the nonprofit, foundation, public and private sectors. Many committee members are also representatives from our key partners including Habitat for Humanity International, the Housing Partnership Network, NeighborWorks® America, the National CLT Network, and the Urban Institute. In order to ensure that application scoring and final decisions were made without bias, each committee member was asked to sign a conflict of interest policy, and members did not review any applications from organizations to which they had an affiliation. The Grants Committee members were:

  • Suzanne Alberga, Independent Philanthropy Consultant
  • Sandra Council, City of San Mateo
  • James Gray, Housing Finance Expert
  • Karen Hoskins, NeighborWorks America
  • Jerry Maldonado, Ford Foundation
  • Erika Malone, National CLT Network
