PAC Meeting – CBIA v City of San Jose: Potential Implications for Inclusionary Housing

August 25, 2015 @ 11:00 am - 12:00 pm

Description

The National Community Land Trust Network and Cornerstone Partnership invite you to learn about the state and local legal considerations for inclusionary housing policies from Rick Jacobus, Consultant for Cornerstone Partnership, and Ben Beach, Legal Director for The Partnership for Working Families. The presenters will review the recent California Building Industry Association v. City of San Josedecision and its implications for inclusionary housing policies. In June, the California Supreme Court ruled in favor of mandatory inclusionary housing programs in the San Jose case, a decision that strongly supports states’ and municipalities’ ability to require developers to build affordable housing. Webinar attendees will also learn about the legal history of inclusionary housing in California and elsewhere and its implications for inclusionary housing policies and their adoption.
